Johannes Ahrends
Oracle Expert |  | Johannes Ahrends is an Oracle database specialist at Quest Software and a recognized Oracle expert with more than 15 years of experience as an Oracle DBA and consultant. Johannes began his computing career in 1987 as a Unix system consultant at Nixdorf and, later, Sony Europe. In 1992, Johannes joined Oracle as a presales consultant, first focusing on Oracle Reports and Forms and later moving over to DBA consulting. He became an expert in high availability architectures, including Oracle Parallel Server; performance tuning; and database management with Oracle Enterprise Manager. Johannes left Oracle in 1999 to gain experience in implementations, working as a consultant for Herrmann & Lenz Services, a small company well known as a specialist for Oracle performance tuning, high availability, troubleshooting, and training. In this position, he became familiar with Quest tools like Toad, I/Watch, Spotlight, and, especially, SharePlex.
Together with former colleagues he has published two German Oracle books: "Oracle9i für den DBA" and "Oracle 10g für den DBA." Both became the most popular Oracle books in Germany. Johannes has done a large variety of presentation at the German Oracle User Group (DOAG) conferences and local seminars. |
